Performing at an Old Folk’s Home
Performing for church’s celebration on X’mas Eve
My heartfelt thanks to students and parents who believed in my online classes for this phase.
Glad that students are still receptive to online lessons during this challenging pandemic.
Making online classes fun : )
Keeping in touch and zooming with students
Christmas is a time of Hope, Love and Joy. Grateful for the lovely thoughts and presents received from well-wishing students and parents.
This is the first Christmas spent in safe-distancing measures (mask-wearing and piano wipe-downs), but even In such an arduous season, there are lessons learnt and experiences gained.
“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” (C.S Lewis)
A real trial and tribulation for everyone (with everyone on either WFH or HBL modes) but every cloud has a silver lining.
Brace forward with a positive mindset and we can definitely soldier on together.
The master classes allow the students to come together to perform in a smaller group setting to build their confidence levels and gain exposure.
Students put in tremendous efforts in their interpretation of the pieces, performance techniques and/or memorisation. Once they have performed, they are being critiqued and given advice individually in front of an open and receptive audience.
Really enjoyed conducting the master classes and hope my students enjoyed the training as much as they loved the marshmallows!
A day to make a teacher proud. It’s a first for many students, to emerge on a stage on their own and perform solo in front of a 100pax crowd… The Piano Recital 2018 showcases a palatable range of standards (from graded classics to jazz, pop and rock) and features a total of 40 beginner, intermediate and advanced students.
Exhilarated to see how students have grown with me – some a few months, others many years. Imparting a skill that they can both cherish and use in life brings joy to my heart, and am so happy to be part of their life processes.
Truly amazed by the eclectic group of young musicians I have been nurturing – bright, eager and enthusiastic. May they continue to play with such fervour and find their own passion in music.
A big Thank You to everyone who made this recital such a glowing success, and to all the students’ parents and my family as well, for believing and standing by me, always ready to offer any assistance, and bestowing an opportunity for learning and growing.
A picture speaks a thousand words….
